CityUHK Industrial and Business Leaders Circle Hosted Industry-Academia Exchange and Sharing Session

An exchange and sharing event was held on Friday, 24 July, in collaboration with the Federation of Hong Kong Innovative Technology and Manufacturing Industry (FITMI). The event aims to foster collaboration between CityU’s research teams and FITMI members to translate research outcomes into real-world applications and create win-win results. The grand gathering brought together 100 industry leaders and 30 university professors. This marks the kick-off of CityUHK Leaders Circle’s partnership with major trade associations. The Circle will continue to roll out cooperation initiatives with other chambers of commerce and organisations to accelerate the industrialisation and commercialisation of research achievements.

As an international hub for business and innovation, Hong Kong boasts a vibrant industrial ecosystem. Meanwhile, City University of Hong Kong, a world-class top institution, delivers outstanding research capabilities. In today’s fast-changing landscape, neither the industrial sector nor academia can tackle complex challenges and market shifts alone. Enterprises rely on continuous innovation to sustain competitiveness; universities, in turn, need industrial resources, up-to-date market intelligence and professional industry feedback to effectively translate research outputs and address real societal demands. This underscores the vital role of trilateral industry-academia-research collaboration in advancing the rollout and development of innovative technologies.

Looks forward to joining hands with the industry to drive technological innovation, nurture talent, and deepen the integration of scientific research and commercial applications for mutual benefits.
